Mrs. Wellington, the headmistress of Summerstone, has invited Madeleine, Garrison, Theo, and Lulu to a refresher course at the Phobinasium. Although the four claim to have been cured of their fears in the last year, Mrs. Wellington knows better: Madeline has discarded her beekeeper costume but wears an insect veil at night. Theo no longer checks his cell phone to see if his family is still alive, but instead stalks his parents and siblings. Garrison plays the role of an avid surfer, but only goes to the beach in the morning to arrive at school with wet hair. And Lulu waits for hours outside elevators so she doesn't have to enter the cramped cabin alone. And then there's a new student, Hyacinth, who is terrified of being left alone. But before the five can embrace the new curriculum, they must save the school and Mrs. Wellington from grave danger.
